I am weak but HE is Strong

Life is full of ups and downs. We have seasons when life is easy and full of happiness. And we have seasons that are not so easy and are full of discouragement, illness and tough situations. These difficult seasons can leave us feeling weak. Sometimes I think those of us in ministry feel guilty in these weak times. Others are looking to us, right?! We can’t let others know how much we are struggling, right?!

Our Lord knows these times will come. He is not disappointed in our weakness, He is made perfect in it. In 2 Corinthians 12, Paul writes about a time when he pleaded with God to take away the thorn in the flesh that he struggled with. In verse 8, Paul says, “Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”

My weakness reminds me how much I need Him. My weakness reminds me to pray. My weakness reminds me of His might. My weakness reminds me of the strength I have in Him. My weakness reminds me of the hope He gives!

Jesus loves me this I know! I am weak, but He is strong. Yes, Jesus loves me! I am so thankful for His love and comfort when I feel so weak. We serve a loving, gracious God that understands our weakness and gives us strength when we need it most. We serve a God who says, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.”

In Him,
