ROI

We frequently hear talk about interest rates and returns on investments. In the financial world these numbers have a significant impact on the outlook a person has about his or her financial future. I want to suggest that the idea of investment is a spiritual term as well and one which deserves our attention.

When I invest in others, or in other words, when I seek to think of others before myself, the returns on those investments may come here in this life, or may not be known until we receive what God’s grace offers us in eternity; but either way, we will receive a return on our investment.

I want to suggest a simple acronym for helping us remember the importance of small things; because truly these are the things which touch hearts and change lives, as Matthew 25 details- service that is linked to Christ.

We are not called to neglect ourselves or our family in order to serve others, but we are called to weave our lives within the lives of others. Not big, bold actions; but daily, small things that will add up…things that will accrue much interest.

 I- Intentionally:

N- Notice

V- Visit

E- Encourage

S- Serve

T- Think of…

                 OTHERS

What small investments will I make today in the lives of others?

May God bless you in all you do today!
